I am attracted to the "taken-for-granted", the ordinary and that which we most ignore. I do not seek my subject when I use the camera &endash; the pictures simply happen because it is simply there. My method is serendipity, the accidental and the chance encounter. What we are most likely not to take notice of becomes pregnant with meaning in its extraordinary interaction with the lenses &endash; the subject becomes more contained and singular because we lift it into our field of vision and enframe it. "Leaves of Grass" is a composition of the textures of the quotidian: puddle-water, rotting leaves, concrete, grass, light, shadow.
